Scholarships 101:

Scholarships 101 is an hour long overview of the scholarship application process.  This workshop was held on Nov 12, 2011.  Questions may be directed to our Financial Aid Champions.

Paying for College:

Paying for College is an hour long presentation for parents of students in their Junior and Senior years of High School.  This workshop was offered on Nov 17 and Dec 3, 2011. Subjects discussed include calculating the total cost of attendance at both private and public universities; the different types of financial aid available; best practices when searching for scholarships; and guidance on how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

FAFSA Completion Workshops:

FAFSA Completion Workshops are offered on multiple Saturdays and some weekday evenings from January – March at high schools throughout Fairfax County.  Parents and students who bring the required documents to the workshop receive one- on- one assistance completing and submitting the FAFSA online.  Spanish and Korean translation is available on request.

Throughout the school year, College Access Fairfax hosts a variety of workshops to provide families and students with information on financial aid opportunities and to assist with completing the various documents needed for a successful financial aid application. Registration is requested and can be accomplished using our on-line registration form.
